Who called the cops?

The children have been playing 'cops and robbers', but I found it was a little too rough when they dragged each other to jail, so....  We decided to make our very own police station.
The children worked together to make a car that could go really fast, so the police officers could give a ticket to the driver.
Here's the police force at the Children's Police Department!
Officer Anthony and Officer Bronwynn catching up on some paper work at the station.

Bronwynn is one happy lady to be handed a ticket for speeding!
Officer Anthony and Officer Allie are looking for their ticket books before patrolling.
                                                   Officer Lillian reporting for duty.

Spring has Sprung.

We finally finished our spring bulletin board.  You all saw the picture of the children painting a big green picture; well I cut that up to make grass and flower stems and leaves.  Then the children painted purple, yellow, blue and pink, and we cut out flowers, clouds, sun and bugs.  One of the older children did the letters for me, and I think it looks fantastic!
Lillian wanted me to take a picture of her rolling.
Allie just wanted me to take her picture:)

Diaper changing confusion!

The girls were playing with their babies when they said, "It stinks in here."  I said, "Did your baby poop?  Do you want to get the change pad out and change your baby?"  They were so excited.
Oden was a little confused, and came over to get his diaper changed.

Bronwynn is tying her babies hands because he can't hold his hands up very well.
Allie's singing a song to her baby.
Lillian's got her work boots on to take her babies into town!

Veterinarian, building blocks, green grass....

Wyatt and Lillian had a great time trying to hold their blocks with tweezers.

What a great fine motor activity.
Allie is packing up after school.
With her back pack on, she said, "Grandma, I'm home from school."
Oden's playing with the doctor equipment, and he
made a neat desk for himself with the upside down chair.
The children are expanding from doctors to veterinarians.  I love how their imaginations work.
And of course the salon for Lillian and Allie - pretending to paint toe nails!
WHERE IS OUR SPRING WEATHER?  I got tired of waiting for a glimpse of green grass, and decided to get the children to paint some for me instead.  I always focus more on the process instead of the end product in my art.  This allows the children to really experiment with art supplies, and master the skills they need for school in a positive way.  There is no wrong way to do art if the end product I'm looking for is just whatever the children make.  We all worked together to paint this paper green.

They painted to whole paper green.  I just have to cut it out in the shape of grass.

Off to 'school'.

These girls are so excited to go to school.  They are pretending to be at school.  They have their back packs beside the table.
I hope they concentrate this hard when they actually do get to school:)

Lots of creativity with the blocks....

There is a bird on the feeder here.  It's hard to see with the screen from the window, but it captured the interest of one of the older children who took this photo.  The bird seemed to be sleeping - it just sat there not moving.  The child also went outside and got fairly close before it flew away.
