Lillian got to finger paint with shaving cream. She started out slow with just one finger, but quickly got right in there with both hands and covered the table. Then she asked for a toothpick (she meant q-tip - we did q-tip painting last week) and began making designs in the shaving cream. Unfortunately no one else was at daycare on Wednesday morning to join her - A.J. got to see the finished product when he arrived, but she quickly washed it up!

5 little snowmen
"There were 5 little snowmen each with a scarf and wooly hat. Out came the sun and melted one. It's sad, but that was that. There were 4 little snowmen each with a scarf and wooly hat...."
This is our new favourite finger play at circle time. The snowmen Velcro onto the mitt, so we can take them off as we practice counting down from 5 to 1! I also let the children practice counting to 5 as I put them on. For the older children we count in French. It is a fun way to practice our numbers.

Welcome Back!
Welcome back, everyone! We had a quiet day today, but it was a great way to get back into the day care routine! We will have a full house tomorrow, and I can't wait to see everyone! Hope you all enjoyed whatever holiday time you had. I really enjoyed my time off, and feel rested and ready for a funfilled New Year!
