rainy day

We got out early this morning and planted some flower seeds before the rain. There was a little shower before we came in, so hopefully they will grow!
We decided to make some new play dough. We made red, blue,  yellow and green! The children enjoyed playing with the warm play dough and are now telling me their play dough is cold! Anthony is making Lego cookies, Wyatt is getting his truck stuck and asking Lillian to cut him out!  AJ is vegging on the chair looking at a book about cows! He lost interest in the play dough as soon as we told him he couldn't eat it!

Picnic season begins...

We have been spending more time outside this week. Gotta love when the weather man is wrong this week.  We had our first picnic outside yesterday afternoon. AJ and Edison seemed very happy to eat outside, and the older children remember picnics from last year! Hopefully we'll have many more picnics!

Dr. AJ!  I can't believe how much he enjoys wearing that hat!  Lillian put it on him the first day I brought the Doctor stuff out, and now he brings it to me to help him put it on before he plays with the doctor stuff!

Chicken farmers!

Okay, I know these days are bad for business, but I love having low numbers and extra timefor any of the children in my care! After the bus this morning, it was just Lillian and AJ, so we went to check on the chickens. After Lillian gathered the egg, we cleaned out the nesting box and then Lillian showed AJ how to take handfuls of shavings and put them in the nesting box. It warmed my heart to watch AJ's proud smile, and to hear Lillian say, "he's my farm helper!". What a great morning. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to slow down and watch them!

sunscreen

We have been enjoying the warmer spring weather! Thanks to all parents for signing the sunscreen permission forms and bringing in sunscreen.  It will be nice to use that once the rain clears up!
We bought a little lawn mower for our new walkers on the weekend, and Will put up a tire swing for the older children. Anthony and Lillian spent most of the weekend on it, and I'm sure the other children will enjoy it too! I'm getting excited for summer holidays and more freedom in our schedule! I've got some fun ideas for all the different age groups. Stay tuned!!

pigs

We got pigs on the weekend, and it is so nice that Wyatt and Bronwynn are old enough and remember them from last summer.  AJ and Eddie liked seeing them too. The pigs are quiet, so it took awhile for them to notice the pigs.  Bronwynn was so excited this morning when we checked on the chickens and there was an egg.  Lillian told her it was her turn to gather the egg! Bronwynn said, "I've never gathered an egg before."
We have also been busy talking and singing about our moms.  Happy Mother's Day to all the moms. Hope you have a great day with your children on Sunday!
