weaving

Today we worked on ELECT skill 5.3 fine motor skills. Grace drew lines on construction paper and the older children cut on the lines. Then Grace helped them weave their two colours of paper together.  Anthony even went on to cut a heart shape out of his weaved paper.  Bronwynn's weave fell apart when she began cutting, and that was frustrating.  Lillian did great with the weaving, and that was enough for her!
AJ was busy trying to walk in the dress up shoes, and Eddie was playing with the kitchen and pretend food. Hopefully the rain stays away and we get some outside time this afternoon.

Welcome back, Grace!

What a great day we had with Grace yesterday.  Everyone was excited to see her especially the children who were here last summer. She did three different crafts with the older children! What fun!

Almost summer holidays!

We are down to the last two days of school!!!  We are enjoying some free play right now. The girls are practicing a concert while AJ is sleeping.  Wonder if this idea has anything to do with going to the kindergarten grad on Tuesday?!

Scholastic reward

Thanks again to everyone who placed a scholastic book order in the last school year. We were able to get a cute picnic set for the children.  They all enjoyed playing with it this morning. It has burgers, buns, ketchup and mustard, watermelon and cupcakes in a plastic picnic basket.

Bring a t-shirt

We will be making adorable Canada Day t-shirts next week. Bring in a T-shirt so your child can make one!

Slow start

We are off to a slow start to the week. Hope our friends are feeling better and get lots of rest today. As for us, we are enjoying the slower pace. AJ and Lillian are enjoying each others company, and I have a few extra minutes to update the blog and get prepared for the rest ofthe week.

Feild Trip

We had a great trip to the school on Monday! We were excited to have Grace with us for the day. For those of you who have not met her, she is my neighbour who comes to help me in the day care for the summer.  We enjoyed playing on the play structures after having a delicious fruit picnic that Bronwynn brought in for us.  We walked back for lunch, and during nap time Grace and I rearranged the furniture in the day care.  I am hoping it will give us more space in the summer.  It was such a hot day that we got the sprinkler out in the afternoon.  What a fun day!
